In Glasgow, our researchers are geared up for an extravaganza of discovery, debate and entertainment in iconic venues such as the Riverside Museum, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and the Forge Shopping Centre.

There’s something for everyone from toddlers to teenagers and adults too, with a packed programme of events in the afternoon and evening of the 29th and a selection of activities to choose from on Saturday morning (30th Sept).

During the day there will be a busy school programme, with around 40 schools in Glasgow hosting researchers to deliver hands-on activities, discussions, debates and interactive workshops. Pupils will have the opportunity to find out about a career in research and take part in our ‘if I was a researcher, I would research…’ social media competition.

Highlights from the programme include, an evening with best-selling science writer Simon Singh as he explores the mathematical secrets hidden within popular TV show, The Simpsons; the UK premiere of ‘Govan Young’, a documentary film which discovers the lost kingdom of Strathclyde with help from pupils at Pirie Park Primary School.

You can wander down the Old Street where you’ll find researchers in shops and explore interactive activities amongst the exhibits. You’ll have the chance to meet robots or test if you are a super-face recogniser in our ‘passport control’ area!
